These two quilts were made by Hana
Zabojnikova of the Czech Republic. One is based on my
"North Bay Christmas" quilt from the cover
of Quilting for Christmas, Winter 2000 issue. She
just used the background and left off the 3-D
accents.
Hana has two quilting magazines
that she finds inspiration in. That's two issues,
ladies, not two subscriptions! One of the magazines
was given to her as a gift from an exchange student
who now lives in California.
She explains that they have very
nice fabrics. She said they have to pre-wash the
fabrics but it is really good. There is a special
store for patchwork near her town. She believes much
of the fabric in that shop is from the USA, but it is
also 2 to 3 times the price of the fabric she buys in
a normal fabric shop.
I'd like to thank Hana for sharing
her work and a little about quilting in the Czech
Republic. I also welcome e-mails and photos from
quilters all over the world to share their
experiences.
