Fabric #7: Cut two 4" x 44" strips then cut into twenty 4" squares.
Fabric #9: Cut four 2" x 44" strips for inside border.

Stitching Directions: A 1/4" seam allowance is included in all measurements.

1. Cut each of the 4" squares in half diagonally, forming two equal triangles.

2. Stitch each of the Fabric #1 triangles to a Fabric #6 triangle with Coat's Dual Duty Plus ® All Purpose Thread (#1 White). Using the Fabric #1/#6 triangle sets, piece ten blocks.

3. Stitch each of the Fabric #2 triangles to a Fabric #7 triangle. Using the Fabric #2/#7 triangle sets, piece ten blocks.

4. Lay out the blocks in five rows of four blocks each, alternating the two blocks. Stitch blocks into rows then stitch rows together.

5. With Coat's Dual Duty Plus ® All Purpose Thread (#2 Black) sew a 2" Fabric #9 border to right and left sides of quilt center. Press and trim excess from these and all successive border additions. Stitch two remaining 2" Fabric #9 strips to top and bottom of quilt.

6. With Coat's Dual Duty Plus ® All Purpose Thread (#1 White) sew a 4-1/2" Fabric #4 border to right and left sides of quilt center. Stitch the remaining 4-1/2" Fabric #4 strips to top and bottom of quilt.

7. Layer backing, batting and quilt top. Baste layers together using Sullivan's Quilt Basting Spray, or another method. Quilt or tie as desired using Star Multi-Colored Quilting and Craft Thread (#855 Spring Greens).

8. Prepare binding from five strips of Fabric #5, each 2-1/2" x 44". Sew strips together into one long binding strip. Press strip in half lengthwise.

9. Carefully trim backing and batting even with quilt top.

10. Leaving an 8" tail of binding, sew binding to top of quilt through all layers matching all raw edges. Miter corners. Stop approximately 12" from where you started. Lay both loose ends of binding flat along quilt edge. Where these two loose ends meet, fold them back on themselves and press to form a crease. Using this crease as your stitching line, sew the two open ends of the binding together right sides together. Trim seam to 1/4" and press open. Finish sewing tape to quilt.

11. Turn binding to back of quilt and blind stitch in place.

12. Sign and date your work.
